Director of the Music School-UFBA (1988-1992): revival of the Seminários Internacionais de Música and creation of the Graduate Program in Music. 4. Octatonic Strategies in the Late Works of Ernst Widmer. 6. 4 books; 30 academic articles (published in Brazil and US); 120 newspaper articles on music. Editor of the music periodical ART (23 issues, 1981-1995). 7. Editorial Board: Revista Música (USP), and JPCS Kent State University/US. 8. Researcher: Grants from the National Council for Research / CNPQ (1983-1985, 2003-2006). Areas of interest: The pedagogy of music composition; music analysis; afro-bahian rhythmic structures; music and psychoanalysis; popular universities. 9.
